These terms and conditions outline the rules and regulations for the use of LSJD Plumbing & Heating services. By engaging our services, you accept these terms and conditions in full.
1. Service Terms
LSJD Plumbing & Heating provides professional heating engineering, plumbing, AGA servicing, and related services across Devon, Cornwall, and Somerset. All services are provided in accordance with:
- Current UK building regulations and standards
- OFTEC, Gas Safe, and HETAS regulations as applicable
- Industry best practices and manufacturer guidelines
- Professional standards and codes of conduct
2. Quotations and Pricing
- All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated
- Quotations are based on the information provided at the time of inspection
- Additional work discovered during service may incur additional charges
- Emergency callout rates apply for out-of-hours service
- Prices include VAT unless otherwise stated
- Payment terms will be agreed upon prior to commencing work
3. Payment Terms
- Payment is due upon completion of work unless otherwise agreed
- We accept cash, bank transfer, and cheque payments
- A deposit may be required for large projects or expensive parts
- Late payments may incur additional charges
- Invoices are payable within 30 days unless otherwise stated
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
- Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may incur a cancellation fee
- We reserve the right to reschedule appointments due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances
- Parts ordered specifically for your job may be non-refundable if work is cancelled
- Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule
5. Warranty and Guarantees
We stand behind our work with the following warranties:
- Workmanship warranty: 12 months from completion date
- Parts warranty: As per manufacturer's warranty terms
- Warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, or third-party work
- Reconditioned AGAs come with specified warranty as detailed at time of sale
- Annual servicing may be required to maintain warranty validity
6. Customer Responsibilities
As a customer, you are responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the property and work required
- Ensuring clear access to work areas
- Providing water and electricity supply as needed
- Informing us of any known hazards (e.g., asbestos, structural issues)
- Obtaining necessary permissions for work (e.g., from landlords)
- Following maintenance recommendations and safety advice
7. Liability and Insurance
LSJD Plumbing & Heating carries comprehensive public liability insurance. However:
- We are not liable for pre-existing faults or defects not reported to us
- We are not liable for damage caused by failure to follow maintenance advice
- Liability for consequential loss is limited to the value of work performed
- Claims must be made in writing within 7 days of issue discovery
- We maintain appropriate professional indemnity coverage
8. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather, natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, or supplier delays.
9. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute:
- Please contact us immediately to discuss the issue
- We aim to resolve all complaints within 14 days
- If we cannot reach a resolution, you may seek independent mediation
- These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to this website. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
